OAuth, Not Passwords
You authorise BillBot through Zoho's official login page. We never see, store, or transmit your Zoho password. You can revoke access from your Zoho account at any time.
Encrypted in Transit
Every connection between Telegram, our server, and Zoho Books uses HTTPS with TLS encryption. Nothing travels in plaintext over the network.
Verified Webhook Calls
Our Telegram webhook uses a shared secret token verified on every request. Forged calls from anyone other than Telegram are rejected before any code runs.
No Bill Storage on Our Servers
Your bill photos and PDFs pass through our server, get parsed, and are attached directly to your Zoho Books entry. We do not keep copies of your invoices.
Strict User Isolation
Your Zoho tokens, organisation list, and bill history are tied to your Telegram ID alone. No user can see, query, or affect another user's data.
Webhook Signature Verification
Payment notifications from Zoho Payments are verified using HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic signatures. Only genuine, signed webhooks are processed.
Disconnect in One Step
Type /disconnect on Telegram and your Zoho tokens are wiped from our database immediately. You can also revoke access directly from your Zoho account settings.

A note on Telegram itself
Telegram is the interface, not the database. Your bill records live in your Zoho Books account, where they have always belonged. The Telegram chat with BillBot is a remote control, nothing more. If you stop using BillBot tomorrow, every bill you have already created stays untouched in your Zoho Books.
For an additional layer of protection on Telegram, we recommend enabling Two-Step Verification (Settings, Privacy and Security, Two-Step Verification) and a Passcode Lock on the app itself. This protects your chat history even if your phone is lost or your SIM is compromised.

Extracted data such as vendor names, GSTIN, amounts, and line items should be reviewed and verified before confirming entries in Zoho Books. The user is solely responsible for the accuracy of all entries created in their Zoho Books account.
